The windows to the soul

Every year has its trend and this year, eyelash enhancement seems the favourite.
Latisse (bimatoprost ophthalmic solution) 0.03% is the first FDA-approved drug that boosts the appearance of lashes and can be used in the treatment of Hypotrichosis (bald spots and short sparse lashes). Sold under prescription, Latisse is not currently available in the UK.
However, Athena
’s RevitaLash® treatment is. Developed by ophthalmologist, Dr. Michael Brinkenhoff, the founder of Athena Cosmetics, RevitaLash® has been tested in clinical tests with no adverse reactions. Revitalash® contains a prostamide but during the synthesis of the prostamide molecule it doesn’t go through a stage of being a drug or a derivative of a drug. Instead, the combination of ingredients creates the appearance of longer, thicker, fuller lashes. Jan Marini Skin Research originally used Bimataprost for their eyelash conditioner but now opts for a proprietary peptide instead, which is also available in the UK.
Alternatively, clients can opt for micropigmentation, with permanent eyeliner applied as dots between the lashes to give the illusion of fuller eyelashes.
And finally, there’s also the semi-permanent option of Lash Perfect extensions, which last 8-12 weeks with regular maintenance.
