Male laser treatments on increase in UK
The last BAAPS survey found male treatments had increased by 21 percent during 2009, and new research from Cynosure clinics suggests that trend looks set to continue. Men now account for 25 percent of Cynosure business, following a steady increase over the last five years, with laser hair removal proving the most popular treatment. Men are also seeking laser therapy for tattoo and thread-vein removal, and anti-ageing, generally after having successful hair-removal treatment. Thread-vein removal has seen a 41 percent increase in enquiries, while enquiries about tattoo removal have increased by 16 percent, and anti-ageing enquiries have grown by 8 percent. Karen Tipping, marketing manager for Cynosure said, Clinics put the increase in interest down to increased media coverage of laser treatments boosting awareness in the male market.
