THREAD VEIN REMOVAL
Thread Vein Removal
Thread veins affect the face, body and legs and can be the source of great embarrassment. They occur just below the surface of the skin and can be caused by a range of factors. Thread vein removal, using the very latest treatments, can help to make your skin smooth and blemish-free with the minimum of discomfort.
Why have thread veins removed?
Normally the tiny veins below the surface of the skin are invisible. Thread veins, also known as spider or capillary veins, occur when these tiny veins expand. This can occur due to exposure to the sun, hormonal imbalance and a number of other reasons. This can be disfiguring, especially if they appear on the face or legs. Removal will help to restore the natural, unblemished appearance of healthy skin.
What does thread vein removal involve?
Thread veins can be removed in a number of ways, depending on your skin type. Your practitioner will be able to assess your skin during the initial consultation to determine which treatment is most suitable for you. Removal will usually require either intense pulsed light or injections, or the use of equipment such as the Veinwave which is relatively painless thermococagulation. Some patients experience mild discomfort, depending on the size of the vein to be removed. Your practitioners will usually use a local anaesthetic cream to numb the area prior to treatment.
How long does treatment last?
Most removal treatments last between half an hour and an hour. Results may be immediate depending on the area treated, although we recommend that you have more than one treatment to prevent thread veins returning. As the process encourages natural removal of thread veins there is no recovery time required and patients can undertake normal activity immediately after treatment.
How do I find out more about thread vein removal?
