CHEMICAL PEELS: OBAGI BLUE PEELS
LA Peel
LA peel is the flagship product from Lifestyle Aesthetics. This peel is used for the treatment of mild to moderate wrinkles, melasma, sun damaged skin and acne. Although LA peel is a superficial chemical peel, multiple layers of the peel can also be used for deep skin treatment, by an experienced practitioner. LA peel is suitable for all skin colours and types, although for darker skins it is applied in fewer layers.
LA peel is basically a chemical formula consisting of three effective peeling agents (lactic acid, salicylic acid and resorcinol) in an ethanol base. Each of the agents has specific skin treatment properties. Lactic acid ensures skin rejuvenation, salicylic acid acts as a cleanser and treats acne and resorcinol is an antiseptic that treats chronic skin disorders.
LA Peel Program
The LA peel program may vary according to the severity of the problem and the area which needs to be treated.
To prepare the skin for the LA peel, skincare experts may recommend the regular use of alpha hydroxyl acids or a Theraderm preparation kit for about two weeks. The preparation kit also highlights skin sensitiveness towards the chemical peel.
The treatment process includes cleansing and applying the peel on the affected skin. It is left to dry for approximately 15 minutes. Following the peel, the patient can resume routine life. the skin will undergo peeling and flaking about 3 days after treatment.
