CHEMICAL PEELS: JAN MARINI PEELS
Jan Marini Peel
Jan Marini peel is a highly concentrated form of glycolic acid; a chemical compound extracted from sugar cane at a strength of 70%. It is applied in the treatment of ageing marks, photo-damaged skin, acne, hyper-pigmentation and acne scarring. The peels can be used on black and Asian skin.
Jan Marini Peels: Procedure
Jan Marini peels are available through trained professionals such as dentists, doctors and registered nursed. This glycolic acid peel removes the outer damaged layer of the skin and stimulates production of new skin cells to improve the appearance.
The peel is evenly applied to all or affected portion of the skin. After 20 to 30 minutes it is removed with care. Visible difference in the skin texture can be noticed immediately. The biggest advantage of Jan Marini peel is that the patient can apply make up and continue with routine tasks right away. As with all peels, it is necessary to protect the skin from the sun and use wide spectrum sun cream for at least six weeks after the peel.
Usually, it takes four to six treatments over a period about four weeks apart to achieve the best results. Jan Marini peels can be applied to arms, hands, chest, thighs, neck and face. However, facial skin shows maximum response to the treatment in the least time.
Jan Marini Peels: Essential Considerations
Here are some key precautions to be taken before a Jan Marini peels treatment program:
- Breast feeding mothers and pregnant women should avoid this program.
- People with highly sensitive skin or scar-prone skin should avoid Jan Marini peels.
- Jan Marini peels have no declared side effects. The treated skin is natural in appearance.
- In rare cases, mild irritation or sloughing may occur.
- Scarring may occur in the areas of hyper-pigmentation or hypo-pigmentation.
Jan Marini has a range of skincare products which are advised to use along with the peel treatment. These superficial to medium-depth peels can be applied to all skin types and colors.
